Description

This is a one-day doll-making workshop with all materials, patterns and instructions are provided.

The Doll Workshop start at 9.30 am and aiming to finish at around 5 pm.

In this doll-making workshop, we are going to be creating a 14" heavy baby/ millet baby. This doll is not my design, but I have been making it for a number of years.

The Heavy Baby doll, sometimes known as Millet baby or Sensory baby is a weighted doll filled with organic, lavender-scented millet and wool and is designed not only to have weight like a real baby but to also provide a calming and therapeutic effect when held on a lap.

All of the sewing work will be hand-stitching. We will not use sewing machines. I will be presewing the body of the dolls with a sewing machine.

This doll making workshop will cover, making and shaping the head of a traditional Waldorf doll and embroidering the eyes and the mouth of your doll.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, with no doll-making experience, but hand sewing skills are needed.

We will be using mainly ladder stitch.

We will not have time to make the outfit for the doll, but it will be available to purchase for an additional £20. You will be provided with the pattern and the instructions for making the outfit.

The class will be small in order to give more teaching time and support to participants.

You will need to bring your own lunch but refreshments will be provided.

Class fees need to be paid in full when booking a place and are refundable if at least 14 days notice is given before the class start date. If I have to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, your class fee will be refunded in full.

Please have a look at the skin and velour colours available, and choose the one you wish to have for your doll.

The workshop is going to take place in my home, Hereford, United Kingdom.
